FPSC Announces Appointment of Ralph Vizl as Chief Strategy Officer for FP Canada and Head of the FP Canada Institute
TORONTO, Feb. 4, 2019 /CNW/ - Cary List, President and CEO of Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC), is pleased to announce the appointment of Ralph Vizl as Chief Strategy Officer for FP Canada™ and Head of the FP Canada Institute™ (the Institute).
On April 1, 2019, FPSC will become FP Canada: a national professional body dedicated to advancing professional financial planning. FP Canada will fulfil its mandate through two divisions: the FP Canada Standards Council™ and the FP Canada Institute.
In this newly created role, Vizl will be responsible for driving strategy for FP Canada and, in his role of Head of the FP Canada Institute, for the development and delivery of products and resources for financial planners and students, to help them meet the needs and expectations of all Canadians seeking professional financial planning advice.
Vizl will also lead all strategic communications and marketing efforts for FP Canada to advance the organization's public profile and the profile of its professional designations: CFP® certification and QAFP™ certification. He will also be responsible for maintaining strategic relationships with key industry employers.

Vizl has spent the bulk of his career in senior strategy and marketing roles within the financial services industry. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Marketing Delivery in the Individual Customer business unit of Great-West Life Assurance Company of Canada. Before joining Great-West Life, Vizl spent several years at Manulife Financial Corp. and its US division, John Hancock Financial Services, in a variety of senior executive roles. Vizl is a graduate of the University of Toronto (BComm) and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation.
