OTTAWA, Dec. 17, 2018 /CNW/ - Destination Canada and the Réseau de développement économique et d'employabilité (RDÉE Canada) are pleased to announce that they have recently signed a memorandum of understanding. This partnership will bring more recognition to tourism organizations and the experiences they offer to Francophones and Francophiles wishing to visit Canada.
The Corridor patrimonial, culturel et touristique francophone, an initiative managed by RDÉE Canada, lists a range of heritage, cultural and tourism products and services that offer visitor services in French. Destination Canada's Canadian Signature Experiences are a collection of once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences found only in Canada. The alliance between these two organizations will bolster the export potential of Francophonie experiences throughout the country.
"As the minister responsible for Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, I'm delighted to announce this agreement between Destination Canada and RDÉE Canada. Together they will promote Canada's francophone experiences, communities and culture around the world."
—The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie.
"Working with RDÉE Canada enables us to collaborate and inspire international travellers to come and celebrate the uniquely francophone experiences only found in Canada. With international travellers spending over $21 billion in Canada last year, the economic benefit to these businesses impacts communities from coast to coast to coast."
—David F. Goldstein, CEO of Destination Canada.
"We believe that La Francophonie and tourism go hand-in-hand in developing the full economic potential of this key sector of our economy. That is why we are very pleased to sign this partnership agreement with Destination Canada, which will help us promote the work of tourism entrepreneurs who offer services in French throughout the country."
