TORONTO, July 15, 2014 /CNW/ - In line with its pricing changes implemented at the start of the year, Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. today announced the introduction of Series M which offers Canadian investors a new option for high net worth pricing in a fee-based model. This new fee-for-service series offers preferred pricing for a selection of mutual funds across a range of asset classes.
"We are very excited to launch Series M for Canadian investors as many are increasingly opting to transition to a fee-based relationship with their advisor. We believe that further innovation in our product offerings in this space is essential to meeting the evolving needs of advisors and investors," said Philip Bensen, head of National Sales - Canada for Franklin Templeton Investments. "Series M offers further fee reductions relative to our existing fee-for-service Series F and it provides investors with growing assets a way to simplify their investment portfolio without sacrificing diversification, all at a relatively low investment minimum."
At a minimum investment threshold of $100,000 based on total household assets1, Series M gives advisors and their clients an easy way to build portfolios from 13 different investment options, covering a variety of asset classes. Series M offers competitive management fees that put more of investors' money to work without the need for additional dealer or account-level distribution agreements. Series M takes advantage of the corporate class structure where available, making rebalancing and financial planning easier and more tax efficient. Furthermore, with a fixed rate administration fee, Series M offers greater fee transparency and fee predictability, which help investors better understand the ongoing costs of investing in a fund.

The Series M fund line-up includes the newly launched Franklin Global Small-Mid Cap Fund (the "Fund"). The Fund seeks to capitalize on the above average capital gain potential of small- and mid-cap global companies in developed countries around the world. The Fund is managed by lead portfolio manager Edwin Lugo, who has more than 18 years of investment experience, including eight years managing small-cap strategies for Franklin Templeton. In addition to Series M, the Fund is also available in Series A, F, I and O.
Franklin Global Small-Mid Cap Fund looks for a select group of high quality companies with market capitalizations of less than US$8 billion that are trading at attractive valuations, while focusing on downside risk, making it an excellent addition to Franklin Templeton's fund line-up.
Franklin Templeton continues to expand its offerings on a number of forward-thinking pricing and product fronts - such as the introduction of Series M - to ensure the most comprehensive product line-up across all platforms is available to investors.
