In celebration of digital creativity, Digifest and Intel have partnered to offer adults and children alike hands-on opportunities to learn and create using cutting edge technologies - no experience required! Intel Family Day will take place May 10 at Corus Quay from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Gesture control demos from Waterloo-based Thalmic Labs: the Myo armband is used to control a flying drone wirelessly through natural and effortless movements of the hand and forearm.
3D Printing workshops will teach you 3D printing basics, how to design a 3D item and allow you to watch as the creation becomes a physical object.
Create and control a robot using Arduino, an open-source electronic platform. MakerKids workshops will teach participants to make and program moon-base bio domes as per requests from the astronauts.
Don't miss Arduinofest, a show and tell of innovative projects using Arduino microcontrollers - participants have the chance to meet with Massimo Banzi, the co-founder of Arduino.
