Freezing rain leaves an estimated 50,000 Toronto Hydro customers without power
TORONTO, Dec. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro-Electric System (Toronto Hydro) reports that approximately 50,000 customers are without power as a result of freezing rain that continues to fall across the city.
Crews are working through the night and will continue through the day to restore power to affected customers as quickly as possible.
With current weather conditions, customers should be prepared for outages lasting anywhere from 12 to 16 hours. The worst of the storm is expected to pass through by early morning and Toronto Hydro will issue an update with revised restoration times at 7 a.m.
