VANCOUVER, BC, June 23, 2020 /CNW/ - Freshslice Cares will be working in concert with all Freshslice restaurants to help continue to build awareness of the Black Lives Matter movement. Freshslice Cares will be donating $1.00 from every full pizza sold at all July 1st, Canada Day to local community groups to help promote BLM.
Freshslice Cares, whose mandate is "To Help Kids Be Kids", acknowledges and celebrates that the BLM movement started as a call to action founded upon the shared desire for justice.
"We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities of all the members of Canadian society and continue to push for justice for Black people and, by extension, all people," Founder and C.E.O. of Freshslice Pizza Ray Russell started in a recent announcement of this initiative.
"We serve over 15,000 customers a day and decided to use that reach working with Freshslice Cares to help raise funds that will be used to further communicate BLM's message, raise awareness and be part of the solution as we march towards the eradication of all forms of prejudice," Russell continued.
Freshslice Cares core principle recognizes that sport promotes social inclusion, children from diverse ethnic backgrounds getting together as a team supports communities. Positive sports experiences make possible development of healthy active communities, enriching lives through personal, social interaction. When communities work together to increase access and opportunities for youth to participate in sport, the whole community thrives.
"Recognizing that Freshslice Cares and the BLM movement have similar objectives it made a lot of sense for us to partner on Canada Day with Freshslice to help raise funds for BLM," Freshslice Cares Director Tom Horler said.
