Friendly Wager Between the Mayors of Montréal and Regina for the Grey Cup
Game
MONTREAL and REGINA, Nov. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal Mayor Gérald Tremblay and Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco have once again made a friendly wager on the outcome of the Grey Cup game taking place this Sunday in Edmonton between the Montréal Alouettes and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
For the second year in a row, both agreed that the mayor of the losing city would wear the jersey of the winning team, raise the flag of the winning city over his own city hall and buy two pairs of season tickets of the winning team that he would then give to a charity.
"Following last year's Alouettes victory, I saw photos of Mayor Fiacco in the Alouettes jersey before the start of a City Council meeting. I thought he looked magnificent in the blue, white and red colours! I am confident that Marc Trestman's team will give my colleague a new opportunity to sport Montréal's jersey," said Mayor Tremblay.
"The Saskatchewan Roughriders were more than generous when they gave the Montreal Alouettes the Grey Cup victory last year," said Mayor Fiacco. "However, this year the Riders will not be as generous when our team brings home the cup. Mayor Tremblay is going to look fantastic in his Rider jersey."
