FT Portfolios Canada Co. announces risk rating change to First Trust Canadian Capital Strength Portfolio

TORONTO, Sept. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - FT Portfolios Canada Co. ("First Trust"), the manager of First Trust Canadian Capital Strength Portfolio (the "Fund"), announced today a decrease to the risk rating associated with the Fund.  This change in risk rating will be reflected in the Fund's simplified prospectus that will be filed on or about September 27, 2013.

The Investment Funds Institute of Canada has established guidelines for determining risk ratings based primarily upon historical volatility risk as measured by the standard deviation of a fund's performance from its historical average.  Based on such guidelines, First Trust determined it was appropriate to change the Fund's risk rating from "Medium to High" to "Medium".  No changes have been made to the objective or strategies of the Fund.
