Fujitsu Extends Multi-million Euro Contract with Bridgestone Europe to Support Services Infrastructure Transformation
SUNNYVALE, CA, Nov. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - Fujitsu today announced that Bridgestone Europe is extending its commitment to outsource IT management to Fujitsu, as it focuses on improving IT services support for its European Strategic Business Units. By entrusting Fujitsu with its IT infrastructure and application management, Bridgestone Europe is able to concentrate on delivering innovation in its own core business areas.
Bridgestone Europe, which is part of the world's largest tire and rubber company, and Fujitsu are taking a collaborative, co-creation approach. Fujitsu is supporting Bridgestone Europe on an IT strategy to devise and deploy a combination of services that deliver the most value and remain in tune with the tire firm's unique needs.
Michael Johnson, Vice President of IT at Bridgestone Europe, commented: "Our corporate philosophy, the Bridgestone Essence, focuses on delivering world class products and solution services to our customers. By collaborating with Fujitsu for the ongoing transformation of our IT infrastructure, we can strike the optimum balance between short term benefits and long term gain. Furthermore, this contract means that we can direct all our energy and expertise into developing innovative solutions that will keep us at the forefront of our industry."
Duncan Tait, SEVP and Head of EMEIA and Americas at Fujitsu, said: "By partnering with companies like Bridgestone Europe, we are enabling them to focus on their core business goals and embrace new opportunities - using their underlying IT infrastructure as a business enabler. We see this renewal as a seal of approval for Fujitsu from Bridgestone Europe, which continues to entrust us to manage its entire IT infrastructure"
Bridgestone Europe has reconfirmed Fujitsu as its provider of a comprehensive range of IT infrastructure and application services until 2018, with an option for further extension. Services provided by Fujitsu include a dedicated, multilingual service desk, on-site and remote support for IT workplaces and equipment, managed print services, service integration, as well as application hosting and operations. The tire manufacturer previously moved data from its own data centers to two of Fujitsu's high-availability data centers in the UK, and all of Bridgestone Europe's SAP systems are now hosted and operated by Fujitsu - which is also responsible for renewing Bridgestone Europe's workplace infrastructure, including notebook PCs and servers.
