Fusion Halifax celebrates fifth annual VivaCity
HALIFAX, Oct. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - Fusion Halifax is excited to host its fifth annual VivaCity on Tuesday, October 21 at the World Trade and Convention Centre from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Serving as a venue for the public to engage with the developers shaping Halifax's future, the focus of the event will be the development of "Smart Cities."
"We want to encourage Halifax's young professionals to be more active in the building of our city by breaking down the barriers between the developers and the public," says Adam Hayter, Director of Urban Development, Fusion Halifax. "VivaCity is an open platform so you can find out what's happening in your neighbourhood and contribute to the city's future."
Attendees at the free event will have the opportunity to learn about many developments planned for Halifax. Some of the exhibitors on hand to discuss their projects include Southwest Properties, Dexel Architecture and Crombie REIT. Other developments being showcased include Mosaik Properties and Battle of the Atlantic Place.
This year's keynote speaker, Rollin Stanley, will draw on his experience as Calgary's General Manager for Planning, Development, and Assessment to discuss urban planning and the development of smart cities.
