OTTAWA, March 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Media are invited to participate either in person or by webcast in a unique event focusing on the future of Canada's forests. The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and the Public Policy Forum have partnered to present #FutureofForestry: Sustainable Solutions to consider the issues of accountability and transparency and to highlight how the Canadian forest products industry is a world leader in environmental standards.
The keynote address will be offered by Anne Giardini, the former Canadian President of Weyerhaeuser. Those participating in the armchair discussions include Ben Cashore of Yale University, the Director of the Governance, Environment, and Markets Initiative and the Director of Forest Policy and Governance; David Lindsay, President and CEO of Forest Products Association of Canada; Glenn Mason, Assistant Deputy Minister, Canadian Forest Service; Aran O'Carroll, Executive Director of Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement - Secretariat, and Wynet Smith, Executive Director of Forest Watch Canada.
