MONTREAL, March 22, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that G. Grant Machum, Chair of the Nominating, Evaluation and Governance Committee, has been named Vice-Chair of its Board. Mr. Machum replaces Elise Orenstein, whose mandate ended in December 2016.

This year, Telefilm Canada celebrates its 50th anniversary, and over these last five decades, the Canadian audiovisual industry has matured into a vital sector of activity at home and abroad. I am proud of the work we do to grow and support this industry, both today and in the future."
Hailing from Halifax, Mr. Machum is a partner of Stewart McKelvey, a leading Atlantic Canada law firm. He has served in various leadership roles, including head of the Labour and Employment Group. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He represents clients from across Canada and has expertise in board governance.
A graduate of Dalhousie University (Bachelor of Commerce) and the University of New Brunswick (LL.B.), Mr. Machum has served on numerous boards and is past Chair and Board member of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University where he also served as Chair of Governance and Chair of the Presidential Search Committee. Other current board appointments include Prescott Group, Symphony Nova Scotia and the Advisory Committee for Grafton Connor Group.
