G20 class action lawsuit to be announced for wrongful arrests
TORONTO, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - A woman who was part of a large crowd of peaceful demonstrators and others that were surrounded and held by riot police for hours at the corner of Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue in Toronto during the G20 Summit is filing a class action lawsuit. The woman will act as the representative plaintiff for over 800 individuals who were allegedly wrongfully arrested during the G20 Summit at various locations, and never charged with any wrongdoing. She will announce the filing of the lawsuit with her lawyers tomorrow (Friday) at Queen's Park, Toronto, outside the front of the Legislature, at 11:00 a.m.
