G8-G20 Summits Integrated Security Unit - ISU to Lift G20 Road, Air and
Marine Restrictions
TORONTO, June 28 /CNW/ - The Integrated Security Unit (ISU) lifted G20 road, air and marine restrictions in Toronto on Monday, June 28, 2010. The gates around the security perimeter downtown re-opened soon after midnight on June 28 and temporary flight restrictions were lifted at 00:01 hours. Areas in, or near, Toronto Harbour are also opened to navigation again.
Individuals who live or work within the security perimeter will no longer be required to show identification or use a pass to gain access to the area. Deconstruction of the fence is also expected to begin on Monday, June 28, 2010.
Motorists may still encounter some disruptions to traffic and parking in the downtown core on Monday, but no significant closures are expected.
