Galaxy Resources Limited - Resignation of Managing Director

PERTH, Australia, June 11, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Galaxy Resources Ltd (ASX: GXY) ("Galaxy" or "the Company") announced the resignation of Iggy Tan as Managing Director. Mr Tan has decided to pursue other interests.
Under Mr Tan's leadership Galaxy's management has built a global lithium company with assets across four continents, and is well positioned to become the preeminent producer of high grade lithium carbonate.
Galaxy's Chairman Mr Craig Readhead said that the Company is truly appreciative of the valuable contribution and service Mr Tan has made to the growth and advancement of the Company and said Galaxy has been fortunate to have the benefit of Mr Tan's vision, skills and leadership in the past 4.5 years.
Mr Anthony Tse, currently an Executive Director with the Company, has been appointed interim Managing Director.

The Company owns Mt Cattlin (100%) spodumene project near Ravensthorpe in Western Australia and the James Bay (100%) Lithium Pegmatite Project in Quebec, Canada.
Lithium compounds are used in the manufacture of ceramics, glass, electronics and are an essential cathode material for long life lithium-ion batteries used to power e-bikes and hybrid and electric vehicles. Galaxy is bullish about the global lithium demand outlook and is positioning itself to become a major producer of lithium products.
