TORONTO, April 22, 2020 /CNW/ - Galileo Global Equity Advisors' Michael Waring is pleased to announce that his flagship fund, the Galileo High Income Plus Fund ( F-class ) was recently awarded a 5-star rating over three years and 4-stars over five and ten years by Morningstar in the Small/Mid-cap category. In addition, the fund is currently ranked first in its class year-to-date. Galileo is also proud to note that their High Income fund is ESG friendly with a current sustainability rating of 20.95 according to Morningstar.
Michael attributes the mutual fund's recognition to the fact that he has consistently been able to uncover lesser known equities before the rest of the market.
The Galileo High Income Fund thesis is to find lesser known growth equities while being mindful of sustainable dividends to consistently deliver both growth and income to Canadian investors.
Since inception in 2006, the fund has an annualized return of 6.74% while delivering a tax efficient 4% annual distribution paid monthly. "We have always been mindful of tax efficiencies with respect to dividends received by the fund" notes Michael.
Most of the fund's exposure lies in Small/Mid-cap equities that are listed or have operations outside of Canada in an effort to invest in more attractive growth opportunities than available here at home. The fund offers access to equities abroad that retail investors in Canada simply do not have access to. "For example, we come across many attractive mid-cap companies in South East Asia with very attractive growth prospects."
The fund is currently positioned to take advantage of the continuing growth in E-commerce, the roll-out of 5G cellular networks and the movement of data to the Cloud. "In our view, this is a very powerful global growth trend that will only be accelerated by the working from home evolution and increased Everything on-line."
The Galileo High Income Plus Fund offers a unique strategy that allows unit holders to diversify away from their traditional holdings in order to earn better risk adjusted returns in their respective portfolios. The fund is available in Canada to all investors and Jason Libenson is available to help with any questions or requests for further information.
