studios
MONTREAL, June 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Montreal's Game On Audio, voiceover leader for the video game industry, today announced that, together with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Investissement Québec and the Regional Economic Intervention Fund (FIER), a strategic investment totalling close to $2 million was made to expand the company's operations.
The injection, composed of funds from Game On Audio and from Investissement Québec as well as loans from BDC and FIER Centre-du-Québec, coincides with an important period of growth for Game On Audio. The company is officially launching their new cutting-edge Montreal studio facility at the beginning of June and are expanding to Los Angeles in September.
"In just eight years Game On Audio has gone from one of the first video game sound specialists in Montreal to now a worldwide audio production provider with partner studios around the world," said Samuel Girardin, Game On Audio's CEO. "It's tremendous to add prestigious partners like BDC, Investissement Québec and FIER. Their vital financial support will allow us to expand our new Montreal studios venue, to develop our proprietary audio post-production workflow technologies, and to continue to pursue international business development opportunities."
Isabelle Leduc, Senior Manager, Entrepreneurship Centre, at the Business Development Bank of Canada, added: "BDC was very impressed by Samuel Girardin's seriousness and commitment to the project. Samuel is also surrounded by a team of seasoned professionals who have passion and the courage to go forward on their ideas. A relationship of trust was immediately established between us and Game On Audio."
ScotiaMcLeod's Manager, Immigrant Investors Program, Martin Boulianne, who evaluated the dossier for Investissement Québec, added: "ScotiaMcLeod is proud to support the next generation of entrepreneurs like Samuel Girardin. We're also excited to be associated with a company like Game On Audio, which is active in the competitive and booming video game industry. We wish every success to Mr. Girardin and look forward to continue being a privileged partner for his future expansion projects."
Yvon Pellerin, President of FIER Centre-du-Québec, added: "FIER is designed to help emerging companies, including young entrepreneurs, to obtain financing at the crucial start-up and development phases. By investing in a promising young businessperson like Samuel Girardin, we are helping Game On Audio to grow and to expand their international client base. This results in exports for home-grown technology expertise and more jobs here at home."
