BRAMPTON, ON, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories has been named, for the third consecutive year, as one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers by Mediacorp Canada, Inc.

The Greater Toronto Top Employers award recognizes employers with head offices or their principal business in the Toronto area who are industry leaders at creating exceptional workplaces and attracting and retaining employees. The winners were selected from among the 2,750 employers who submitted an application to this year's national competition, which evaluated employers based on a number of factors, including work atmosphere and communication, benefits, training and skills development and community involvement.

Gamma-Dynacare's submission highlighted the employee programs, learning and development opportunities, health and safety practices and community projects that help to create a positive work environment and demonstrate the company's commitment to its employees. These programs include recognition events, continuing education opportunities and special programs for employees' children.

Gamma-Dynacare was recognized by the judges for its family-friendly benefit programs, which include comprehensive retirement savings and health benefit plans, top-up benefits for parental leave that also extend to new fathers and adoptive parents, and starting employees at three weeks paid vacation plus two personal paid days off. Gamma-Dynacare's Scholarship Program, which awards 16 scholarship grants annually to eligible dependants of its employees, also was recognized as a key benefit.
