VANCOUVER, May 13, 2014 /CNW/ - Garmatex Technologies, Inc. ("Garmatex"), an industry disrupting supplier of scientifically-engineered performance fabrics, continues to strengthen its senior management team announcing two appointments.
William (Bill) Gardiner joins Garmatex at its Vancouver headquarters as Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing. Mr. Gardiner formerly held senior executive positions at industry leading sister companies, Nan Yang Textiles and Zorrel International, where, among other accomplishments, he spearheaded the development of and ran the Inspiration Centre in Bangkok, and started and built their North American business, growing the sales base to more than $45 million annually. Alexander (Alex) McAulay, BBA, CPA, CA, has joined Garmatex as its Chief Financial and Operations Officer. After articling and working as a professional accountant with the leading mid-market accounting firm, MNP, Mr. McAulay co-founded the Naked Brand Group Inc. and served as it CFO, COO and Secretary, as well as a member of its Board of Directors. A dynamic business and operational efficiency strategist, Mr. McAulay has already begun to make his mark at Garmatex, streamlining its financial reporting department and organizing the emerging Finished Goods division.
Martin J. Doane, CEO of Garmatex, introduced Messrs. Gardiner and McAulay to Garmatex's hundreds of stakeholders:
"These two appointments signify a large step-forward for Garmatex, helping to further establish the foundation for our future growth.
Bill Gardiner is a true fabric and apparel polymath, and we are incredibly fortunate to have been able to recruit someone of his caliber. With his track record of successfully working with the most demanding fabric customers in the world, Bill will no doubt help us realize on the dozens of opportunities we are currently pursuing with leading global brands, while bringing new opportunities forward from his own vast network. At the same time, Bill offers a steady management hand and wisdom to help the company navigate the challenges of its plan to achieve exponential growth in the coming years.
Alex McAulay offers a rare combination of a rigorous accountant's bottom-line orientation with entrepreneurial zeal. He is a unique talent, with the kind of enthusiasm and drive that builds world-beating enterprises, but with a temperament sustainable for the long run. Alex has already established himself as a leader and team builder at Garmatex, and we expect him to serve as a key executive at the company for many years to come."
