Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Announces the Grand Opening of Grand Villa Edmonton on September 7, 2016
The Grand Villa Edmonton is the first major attraction in ICE District set to open its doors.
EDMONTON, Aug. 4, 2016 /CNW/ - Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (Gateway) today announced that the Grand Villa Edmonton will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, September 7 at 7pm. Gateway's newest property in ICE District will have 60,000 square feet of entertainment space, 24 gaming tables and 600 slots; the Grand Villa will be an exceptional addition to Edmonton's vibrant and rejuvenated downtown.
Hosted by Edmonton's very own Jason Strudwick, guests will have a first look at ICE District's incomparable entertainment destination, enjoy Gateway's signature restaurant Match Eatery & Public House and see Mourning Wood, one of Alberta's most beloved rock cover bands, perform some of their greatest hits. Later in the evening, Edmonton's DJ Smith & Nephew will entertain guests with music that crosses all genres and appeals to all.

The Grand Villa Edmonton will bring up to 200 new permanent jobs and a $32 million investment to the Edmonton economy. In addition to this long-term investment, the project will result in 450 person-years of construction employment.
