Genalta Power Inc. Announces Ed Stelmach Joins the Board of Directors
CALGARY, June 5, 2012 /CNW/ - Genalta Power Inc., ("Genalta" or the "Company"), an independent developer and operator of waste energy to electricity generation facilities, announced today that Ed Stelmach has accepted a seat on the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Stelmach will join the Board of Directors of Genalta effective July 18, 2012.

Background - Ed Stelmach
Edward "Ed" Stelmach retired as the 13th Premier of Alberta, on October 30, 2011. Stelmach was first elected as a Member of the Provincial Legislative Assembly (MLA) under the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta in the 1993 general election. He held various government posts, including the Deputy Whip and Chief Government Whip before being appointed to cabinet in 1997. In Cabinet, Mr.Stelmach served as Minister of Intergovernmental Relations, Transportation, Infrastructure, and Agriculture, Food, & Rural Development.
As the leader of a successful province, Mr. Stelmach was known to address challenging economic and social issues such as energy royalties, energy security, environmental protection as well as economic recovery at the federal level. Stelmach was also recognized for the initiation of the provincial government's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness, the creation of the Capital Region Board, an overhaul of the province's health governance system and amendments to Alberta's human rights legislation. Mr. Stelmach is also credited with increasing the Party's majority in the 2008 election.
