PERCÉ, QC, Oct. 10, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Tourism provides an excellent opportunity for economic diversification at the national and regional levels. The Government of Canada's investment in recreational tourism projects and the development of tourist sites and attractions helps generate interesting economic benefits in the regions and communities.
The Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Géoparc de Percé has been granted $261,150 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to set up a zipline between lookouts 1 and 3 on Mont Sainte-Anne.
Géoparc de Percé is a non-profit cooperative that brings together Percé's tourism partners, whose mission is to develop, operate and maintain a major tourist attraction accessible to the public and to offer new activities, generating socio-economic benefits for the entire area.
The funding granted through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) helped the Géoparc de Percé build the two zipline towers used for take-off and landing and acquire and install all the zipline equipment.

They will help attract tourists from outside Quebec and strengthen the drawing power of Percé, a world-renowned destination.
