Georgian Bay Spirit Co. Launches New Cranberry Gin Smash
TORONTO, June 8, 2018 /CNW/ - Georgian Bay Spirit Co. has added a brand new flavour to its industry leading portfolio of craft cocktails-in-a-can with the introduction of the Cranberry Gin Smash, a blend of craft Georgian Bay Gin, natural lemon, lime and cranberry flavours and a hint of coriander.
"Cranberry was a natural choice for our next Gin Smash flavour," says Georgian Bay Spirit Co. CEO, Denzil Wadds. "Our goal has always been to create a refreshing pre-mixed cocktail which is less sweet than what you would expect. The tartness of cranberry perfectly complements this profile. And, of course, cranberries grow wild throughout the Georgian Bay area."
The Cranberry Gin Smash joins its predecessors, the Gin Smash and Vodka Smash – two of the LCBO's most popular cocktails-in-a-can.
"Our biggest challenge was to craft something that lives up to the phenomenal success of our original Gin Smash while offering something new for those wanting to explore different flavour options," says Co-Founder and Head of Innovation, Tim Keenleyside. "We think we've succeeded in coming up with something that consumers will immediately recognize as being true to our roots, while still offering something new and different."
Georgian Bay Cranberry Gin Smash will be launching in the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) stores in a single can, 473mL format and is made with Georgian Bay Gin, which recently won Double Gold at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. "We're offering consumers the convenience of a premium cocktail-in-a-can without sacrificing taste or quality," says partner and Executive Chair, Mark Cohon. "The fact that our Smash products are made with some of the best spirits in the world really helps set us apart within the industry."
Georgian Bay Cranberry Gin Smash will be available at the LCBO in June 2018.
