Get Happy, Get Healthy and Make a Difference - Join take it to the mat 2015
Lymphoma Canada promotes health and wellness through an invigorating fundraising event
TORONTO, June 29, 2015 /CNW/ - take it to the mat, The Great Yoga & Wellness Revolution, in support of Lymphoma Canada, is back for the second year in a row. The event will take place at the Glenn Gould Studio and Barbara Frum Atrium in Toronto on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
"The inaugural event exceeded all of our expectations with over 200 people in attendance to help raise $150,000 in support of patients with lymphoma and their families." said Robin Markowitz, chief executive officer, Lymphoma Canada. "take it to the mat 2015 will be a memorable day of healing, inspiration, energy and transformation as participants gather together to practice yoga or meditate and learn about how happiness can improve well-being, while championing an important cause."
A host of experts in yoga, meditation and the science of happiness, including MC Bryce Wylde and keynote speaker Louisa Jewell, will join participants for this inspirational day. Musicians Normando Jones and Lana Sugarman will enhance the 108-minute yoga and meditation sessions with their melodies and vocalist Roveena will entertain the group during a delicious lunch. Sarah Horgan, a lymphoma survivor, will also share her incredible story.
"Participants can further their own health and wellness journey through their fundraising efforts. Our incentives address the importance of rejuvenation through proper nutrition, fitness and relaxation," explained Roz Baker, national director of signature events, Lymphoma Canada. "Whether it's a gift certificate to get a relaxing treatment at Spa My Blend by Clarins in the Ritz-Carlton, a yoga and wellness weekend retreat at the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa or another one of our great incentives, the benefits are multi-faceted."
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer affecting Canadians and has the fastest rising incidence rate among young adults. Currently over 100,000 Canadians are living with lymphoma and there is no known cause or prevention, only hope for a cure. All funds raised at take it to the mat 2015 will enable Lymphoma Canada to further its mission of supporting Canadians living with lymphoma: Hodgkin, non-Hodgkin and CLL.
Event sponsors include: Aroma Espresso Bar, Equitable Bank, JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa, President's Choice, PSAV, Revitasize Juice, Carillion Hotel & Spa Miami Beach, The Ritz-Carlton Toronto, Starbucks and Zenergy Communications.
