Get ready to be dealt a new lottery game with a poker twist
OLG announces plans for POKER LOTTO, a new in-store game available only in Ontario
TORONTO, July 27 /CNW/ - Having a "full house" has never been so much fun. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is introducing an innovative new in-store lottery game that combines instant wins and nightly draws - all in one ticket. Early this September, OLG will launch POKER LOTTO, a new Ontario-only poker themed in-store lottery game.
POKER LOTTO will have nightly draws for prizes up to $100,000.00 but players can also win up to $5,000.00 instantly every time they play on their $2 Quick Pick ticket.
POKER LOTTO will use playing card symbols instead of numbers, and for the first time ever with a draw game, players can also win and claim prizes instantly at the time of the purchase. Tickets that win on the instant portion can be redeemed immediately at the retailer and will still be valid for that night's draw for even more chances to win.
"Our customers are always asking for distinctive new games with more opportunities to win, and we are listening by introducing POKER LOTTO," said Wendy Montgomery, OLG Vice President, Lottery Marketing & Key Accounts. "POKER LOTTO is like two games in one, and you don't have to be a poker player to have fun and win!"
In-store sales and nightly draws will start on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The overall odds of winning a prize in POKER LOTTO are 1 in 3.66 while the odds of winning the top prize are approximately 1 in 2.59 million. Full game details will be available at lottery retailers and on the POKER LOTTO page of www.olg.ca in the days leading up to start of sales.
