GHISLAIN PICARD WELCOMES THE CHIEF OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE FIRST NATIONS TO
QUEBEC THIS WEEK
KAHNAWAKE, QC, Nov. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL) welcomes this week to Quebec the Chief of the Assembly of the First Nations, Shawn Atleo. He will be in Mashteuiatsh, in Lac-Saint-Jean on Monday, November 1st, and in Opitciwan on November 2nd. "It will be a pleasure to accompany him in meetings with the population, along with Innue and Atikamekw leaders. It is an honor to have Chief Atleo visit Mashteuiasth and Opitciwan for the first time," mentioned Ghislain Picard, Chief of the AFNQL.
Also, Chiefs Atleo and Picard will be present at the oath ceremony of Eva Ottawa, to be held on Tuesday, November 2nd. Ms. Ottawa will be sworn in as Grand Chief of the Atikamekw Nation for the second consecutive time. She was re-elected last September for a three-year mandate. This important ceremony will be held in Opitciwan.
