WHITE PLAINS, NY, June 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Gilles B. Legault, Senior Counsel, Global Legal Affairs at Canadian National Railway Company (CN), has been elected to the National Board of Directors of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), effective July 1, 2013. His term will run through June 30, 2016.
Legault has been with CN in Montreal since August 2000. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). Prior to becoming the Chairman of LLSC, Legault chaired the Leadership Committee of the Light The Night® Walk of the Montreal Chapter of LLSC. He was Corporate Chair of Montreal's LTN Walk 2010. At CN, Legault is the senior legal advisor for the Supply Chain Solutions group, which provides international freight forwarding services, warehousing and distribution services, as well as trucking, specialized transportation services and customs clearance services, and has shared responsibilities for CN's overall insurance programs.
Prior to joining CN, Legault worked in trade law and trade policy for the Government of Quebec in Quebec City at the Ministry of International Relations, and for the Government of Canada in Ottawa, at the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Aside from CN, Legault was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America (CILTNA) in November 2008. Legault is currently past Chair of the CILTNA and Chair of the CILTNA Québec Chapter. He is also a member of the Infrastructures, Transport & Logistics Committee of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) since 2009, and was recently appointed by the Quebec Transport Minister as the rail industry representative on the Consensus-Building Forum on Maritime Transport. Legault is also active in his community of Saint-Lambert and was elected as a member of the Corporation du Collège Jean de la Mennais in 2011 in Laprairie (Québec), where two of his three sons attend high school.
