HAMPSTEAD, QC, Aug. 20, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Town of Hampstead is delighted to announce that world-renown singing star Ginette Reno will sing the national anthem at the Silver Star Hampstead Centennial Concert's opening ceremony that will be held:

Ginette Reno will make a spectacular entrance into the park, where she will be greeted by an honour guard performed by the Royal Montreal Regiment. This special opening ceremony is in recognition of the International Day of Peace, which is also celebrated September 21.
The legendary Ginette Reno captured the hearts of Montrealers and hockey fans around the world with her riveting rendition of O Canada during this year's Stanley Cup playoffs. Her unparalleled voice has won her worldwide accolades as well as numerous awards including 12 ADISQ and three Juno Awards.
The Centennial Concert will also feature performances by: Martha Wash, Crystal Waters, The Damn Truth, Montreal Backbeat Showband, and David Lion, Illusionist.
"Ginette Reno is an international icon loved by fans, not only in Quebec but all over the world. We are honoured to have her open Hampstead's Centennial concert with her stirring rendition of our national anthem," enthused Hampstead Mayor Bill Steinberg.

The Silver Star Hampstead Centennial Parade & Concert will be held September 21, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm followed by a concert in Hampstead Park at 2:00 pm and fireworks at 7:30 pm.
