Global Automakers of Canada Denounces Steel and Aluminium Tariffs Imposed by the United States
TORONTO, June 1, 2018 /CNW/ - The Global Automakers of Canada, on behalf of its 15 member companies, reiterated today the concerns of the membership regarding the steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by the President of the United States on NAFTA partners as well as the European Union.
"The automotive Industry is completely globalized. Pretending that this is not the case is myopic, misguided and harmful to our collective economies," said David Adams, President of the Global Automakers of Canada.
"More importantly tariffs are essentially taxes that are paid by American consumers who disadvantaged by these actions," added Adams.
