TORONTO , Nov. 6 /CNW/ - The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is the Official Host of Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada (GEW Canada ) from November 16-22, 2009. GEW Canada will be partnering with hundreds of organizations to champion a culture of entrepreneurship and mentoring through a wide variety of events.

The Great Canadian Mentoring Challenge November 16th - 22nd, 2009

CYBF, together with IBM, Nerds On Site, and the W. Brett Wilson Centre for Entrepreneurial Excellence are asking you to pass on your mentoring DNA! The Great Canadian Mentoring Challenge (GCMC) will bring together business leaders from across the country to contribute their advice to aspiring new business owners and put Canada on the world map as the leader in mentoring young entrepreneurs. Industry Canada and CYBF will host a Youth Entrepreneurship Summit in Toronto along with partners the John Dobson Foundation, Business Development Bank of Canada and The National Post. Key leaders from government, educational institutions, business and non-profit agencies will come together with entrepreneurs to help develop a framework and eventual White Paper with recommendations for Canada's first youth entrepreneurship strategy. CYBF's annual Chairman's Awards Celebration honours its outstanding entrepreneurs, mentors and community partners. In addition, CYBF also honours two exceptional Canadian entrepreneurs with our "Nation Builder Award". This year the winners are David Aisenstat, President and CEO, The Keg Steakhouse & Bar and Chairman, The Keg Spirit Foundation and W. Brett Wilson , Chairman, Prairie Merchant Corporation and CBC Dragon.

CYBF and Enterprise Toronto will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Business Lesson. Launched in 2007 by the U.S. based Kauffman Foundation and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown , GEW is an international movement designed to create increased awareness as to the importance of young entrepreneurs and their direct impact on the global economy.
