Go Green in a Chevrolet Volt - For Free - with Discount Car & Truck Rentals

TORONTO, April 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Discount Car & Truck Rentals, a national leader in the automotive rental industry, is giving Torontonians a chance to test drive the new electric Chevrolet Volt for free - and to see for themselves why going electric is better.

"We believe that electric cars are the way of the future, and are good for our country and our planet. An electric car really needs to be driven to be believed," said Jay Singer, Vice-President, Fleet & National Sales, Discount Car & Truck Rentals. The Volt is one of several electric cars in the marketplace. "As a major provider of transportation in Canada, we have a responsibility to help people experience electric cars and hopefully contribute to the global acceptance of this new technology."

The Chevrolet Volt will arrive at Discount's head office on April 1^st, where it will be driven for ten days by Herb Singer, Founder and President of Discount Car & Truck Rentals.  Herb's experiences driving the electric car will be shared on Discount's Twitter (http://twitter.com/DiscountCar and Facebook http://www.facebook.com/DiscountCarAndTruckRentals) pages.

After April 10^th, the car will go to the Discount location at 134 Jarvis Street in Toronto, where qualified customers can rent the Volt for free. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis, and Discount anticipates a huge turnout.  All rentals will be for a 24 hour period maximum, and reservation requests should be emailed to [email protected]. The actual rental charge for the car will be waived. Customers will be only responsible for purchasing a collision damage waiver or providing their own transferable collision insurance, excess kilometers above the 250 free kilometers per day, and any related taxes and surcharges.
