GO Transit and 680News partner up over the airways
TORONTO, May 3, 2010 /CNW/ - Today, GO Transit and 680News announced an important partnership that will provide GO customers with train and bus service status updates during rush hour commutes.
GO is pleased to take a first step toward establishing a radio presence and to add another convenient and easy way for customers to get information. Every weekday, between 5:30 and 9:30 a.m., then again between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m., the voice of GO Transit will be heard during transit updates.
"We are excited to be teaming up with 680News and to provide another way of communicating service updates," said Gary McNeil, GO Transit's Managing Director. "Many of our customers already listen to 680News on their way to the station, and now they will have more information to make choices for their daily commute."
"We're thrilled to be partnering with GO Transit. We've been running TTC reports for many years," said John Hinnen, 680News Vice President and General Manager. "Direct reports from GO Transit will make our commuter updates the most comprehensive in Toronto."
Starting today, customers will hear the GO commuter report on the 680News transit reports at :06 and :36 past each hour during morning and afternoon rush hours.
