Building the business of your dreams or pursuing a life-fulfilling venture has never been easier or more popular, whether it's a passion project or starting a company that allows you independence. In fact, 77 per cent of Canadians polled in a recent survey by Ipsos, commissioned by GoDaddy, said they would like to be their own boss. Canadians are looking to pursue their own businesses for a myriad of reasons, the most popular being to allow more time to pursue passions like spending time with family or training for a race, to building a business legacy. More Canadians than ever are valuing flexibility in their lives. 61 per cent of Canadians polled say the most attractive part of starting a business is the flexibility to work when, how, and where they want.
To help Canadians realize their entrepreneurial goals, GoDaddy is announcing a call for nominations to help three (3) lucky small business owners get their company to the next level by offering a monetary prize of $5,000 in seed funding, and an additional $2,500 credit for GoDaddy professional web development services. The winners can use their GoDaddy credit towards any GoDaddy services, including having a professional website built, optimizing their site with Search Engine Optimization and more. About this survey
These are findings of an Ipsos Reid poll conducted on behalf of GoDaddy. For this survey, a sample of 1,002 Canadians from the Ipsos I-Say panel was interviewed from September 21st to September 26th 2016. Quotas and weighting were employed to ensure that the sample's composition reflects the overall population according to census information. The precision of online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the results are accurate to within +/- 3.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20, of what the results would have been had all Canadian adults been polled. Credibility intervals are wider among subsets of the population.
