GOLDEN DAWN MINERALS INITIATES 2500 METER DRILL PROGRAM, WILD ROSE
GOLD-COPPER PROSPECT, HISTORICAL GREENWOOD DISTRICT, BRITISH COLUMBIA,
CANADA.
TSX-V: GOM
FRANKFURT EXCHANGE: 3G8
VANCOUVER, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - Golden Dawn Minerals (GOM TSXV, Frankfurt 3G8) has received a permit to commence a drill program of 12 diamond drill holes on the Wild Rose Property which, along with surface surveys, will investigate the potential for open-pit bulk tonnage gold-copper zones on the Wild Rose and Tam O'Shanter properties. The drillings will take place on the west flank of the historic Greenwood Mining District, British Columbia, Canada and will be supervised by Mike Dufresne, M.Sc., P.Geol. of APEX Geoscience Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta, who has been active in the District for the past three years. It is anticipated that the drilling will begin during the 2nd week of November.
Drilling of multiple holes during the 1980's and 1990's and early 2000's in several drilling campaigns, encountered significant gold values in the Deadwood and other nearby target areas both east and west of the boundary of the Wild Rose Property and the newly optioned Tam O'Shanter property (TSX Venture Exchange approval is required for the option agreement with respect to the Tam O'Shanter property). At least 14 historic diamond drill holes along a northwest trending magnetic feature at the Deadwood Gold Zone have yielded widespread, low grade (<1 gram/tonne [g/t]) gold mineralization. One of the better holes DDH 92-27 encountered 63 meters averaging 0.95 g/t gold and 0.40% copper. These 14 holes define a northwest trend that is an exploration target area exceeding 2000 meters by 200 meters in extent that warrants future drill testing during the upcoming Wild Rose drilling program. At the southeastern end of this zone some drill holes will examine the previously encountered Wild Rose and Wild Cat vein system which trend northwest into the Deadwood zone.
All of the data are historical in nature and have not been verified. There are no known mineral resources on the property and there can be no assurance that any will be found or, if found that such may be economically mined.
Field crews have been mobilized to the area in preparation for drilling. The drilling will be conducted under contract with Vicore Mining Developments Ltd., a company which has a support shop in the nearby city of Greenwood. All support services are available within the vicinity, with excellent access from Highway 3 via good logging and gravel roads. The initial drill program on this 3000 ha property is expected to be completed by mid Dec. 2010.
