RICHMOND, BC, April 25, 2019 /CNW/ - Having completed its successful business turnaround, Golf Town is now investing on the front line to deliver the ultimate golf retail experience to Canadian customers.
"The relaunch of the Richmond store really speaks to our goal to make Golf Town the 'Destination for everything Golf in Canada,'" said Chad McKinnon, President of Golf Town. "Everything from the aesthetics to the experiential nature of the store have been designed to really capture and engage the consumer. The sport is at an exciting point in its history, and we are reinventing this store to reflect that throughout."
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Golf Town has redesigned the 18,000-square-foot store to cater to the casual player and enthusiast alike, allowing patrons to dive into the latest products, or linger in the casual and welcoming environment offered in its new simulator and service shop areas. Key brands will be represented in shop-in-shop areas within the culturally-diverse store, which will also provide an enhanced experience for those seeking to have clubs custom fitted through the use of Foresight Golf's premier GCHawk launch monitor and GCQuad technology. Golf Town is the first major retailer in the world to offer the best-in-class fitting experience on the Foresight GCHawk technology, allowing for a premium custom fitting experience for every club in the bag.
"Golf retail and the Canadian consumer has changed a great deal since Golf Town first opened in 1999," said McKinnon. "With that in mind, our reimagined Richmond store reflects the changing environment around golf, the integration of digital media and lifestyle elements. This is just the latest step along the path to our goal of becoming the Home of Golf in Canada."
The Richmond location has been completely reworked and reconceived over the last 12 months to enhance its experiential elements, including inspiring imagery that connects the store to the Canadian golf landscape and rich video content that enhances the shopping experience. Clean and distinct product and digital displays are among the many highlights of the relaunched store. A number of these new showcased elements at Golf Town's new retail concept will be incorporated into all of its stores across Canada in the future.
"We want this store, like all of those across our chain, to become a hub of the golf community, a place where golfers and golf fans come to connect to the game," said McKinnon. "Whether you're looking to upgrade your equipment and golf style, enjoy a night out at our Lisa LongBall Ladies Clinics, or are looking to improve your game with Golftec lessons for yourself or the family, our Richmond store will offer it all."
The Grand Reopening Weekend will feature a series of special offers on leading brands like Honma, Yamaha, TaylorMade, and more, plus giveaways for the first 100 guests on both days of the Grand Reopening event.
