Golfers take a swing at supporting children living with mental health challenges at 4th Annual Kinark Golf Classic
MARKHAM, ON, Aug. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Over 120 golfers will come together on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Deer Creek Golf Course in Ajax, Ont. to support and help advance mental health services for more than 11,000 of Kinark Child and Family Services' clients across Central Ontario.
The Annual Golf Classic is a widely successful fundraising event for The Kinark Foundation, with last year's tournament raising more than $78,000.
Those participating in the 2012 Kinark Golf Classic hope to make this year an even bigger success, by raising $100,000. Funds raised will be used to help renovate cabins at the Kinark Outdoor Centre, provide transportation to and from specialized services, provide treatment for low income families and much needed respite opportunities for children and families.
Kinark Foundation is the fundraising arm of Kinark Child and Family Services, Ontario's largest children's mental health agency. Kinark helps children and youth with autism and mental health challenges and its services range from providing parenting education and respite, to residential treatment and individual, family and group counseling.
