CALGARY, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - ENMAX Corporation and Mayfair Place property managers CAPREIT (residential tenants) and CB Richard Ellis (commercial tenants) are pleased to announce significant progress regarding Mayfair Place.
On Monday of this week, commercial tenants were able to re-open their doors for business. Also, ENMAX adjusters have been meeting with all commercial tenants to help them restore their business operations.
Beginning today, residential tenants will be allowed to start moving back into their suites. All fridges and stoves (owned by the building) have been replaced and recycled as the old units were rendered inoperable. The building electrical system has been checked and verified to be safe and operational.
Residential tenants will be provided with a $250 gift card for groceries by CAPREIT upon re-entry. This gift card is intended to cover fridge content replacement costs for food that was disposed of after the incident. Additionally, residential tenants will be contacted shortly by CAPREIT regarding a rent abatement.
"We're pleased with how quickly we were able to get both residential and commercial tenants back into Mayfair Place," said Gary Holden, President and CEO, ENMAX Corporation. "We appreciate the patience and understanding of those tenants and the hard work by all involved to make a safe re-entry possible."
After re-entry, residential tenants will also have an opportunity to meet with an ENMAX insurance adjuster to assess damage to electronic equipment in their respective suites. Tenants should visit the temporary office space ENMAX has set up on the main floor of the commercial side of Mayfair Place to book their appointments.
ENMAX has also arranged for movers to be on site to remove damaged electronic equipment. This equipment will also be processed for proper recycling.
ENMAX will continue to maintain a presence at Mayfair Place until no longer required.
