Government of Canada invests in Saskatchewan innovation, training and economic development initiatives Français
REGINA, April 27, 2018 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is making investments to help Canadians get the skills they need for good jobs, that contribute to a growing economy and to create innovative technologies that support sustainability and promote inclusiveness.
Today, the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, announced more than $10.6 million for 14 projects in Saskatchewan through Western Economic Diversification Canada's (WD) Western Diversification Program and Economic Development Initiative. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada.
The investments will support a range of projects throughout the province in the areas of clean energy; advanced manufacturing of vaccines, medical isotopes and innovative materials; technology commercialization; job training; and economic development for Saskatchewan's Francophone community.

The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, announced over $10.6 million in funding from Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) for 14 projects.
These investments are part of the Western Diversification Program (WDP) and the Economic Development Initiative (EDI). The WDP is the main program through which WD makes strategic investments in initiatives that enhance and strengthen the economy of Western Canada. The EDI supports business and economic development that encourages sustainable growth in Western Canada's francophone communities.
