TORONTO, April 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Keeping our communities and citizens safe is a priority of the Government of Canada.
Today, the Government of Canada announced $6.3 million over five years in federal funding has been made available under the National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS) for Stop Now And Plan's (SNAP®) VENTURE Philanthropy Approach to Create Massive Social Change in Canada for High Risk Children (and their Families), delivered by the Child Development Institute.
The SNAP Venture Philanthropy Approach project aims to implement the SNAP model in 100 new communities across Canada, by offering training, consultation, equipment/materials and evaluation support to interested organizations. This project will work to ensure that children and families receive the treatment they need, decreasing the number of high-risk children who enter the juvenile justice system in Canada. The project, which began its work in 2017, is expected to reach 14,000 high-risk children and their families.
