Thanks to a $1,800,00 contribution, the promotion of IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant is assured for the next three years
MONT-TREMBLANT, QC, Aug. 18, 2017 /CNW/ - [Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)] - Tourism provides an excellent opportunity for economic diversification at the regional, national and international levels. The Government of Canada's investment in cultural and sports events is an effective way to support actions that generate substantial economic and media spinoff in the regions in which the events are held. IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant is a perfect example of this.
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Stéphane Lauzon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Sports and Persons with Disabilities and Member of Parliament for Argenteuil–La Petite Nation, announced that Événements sportifs Mont-Tremblant has been granted $1,800,000 in financial assistance from CED to market the 2017, 2018 and 2019 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant challenges.
The funding has been awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP). It will be used to continue to promote Mont-Tremblant as a world-class destination for long-distance triathlon training. Since 2012, these races have provided a unique tourism showcase for Mont-Tremblant, the Laurentides and Quebec.
Événements sportifs Mont-Tremblant, a non-profit organization established in 2015, manages IRONMAN events in Mont-Tremblant. The organization works closely with its regional partners on the coordinated and integrated marketing of Mont-Tremblant to external clienteles as the ideal training location.
