Government of Canada supporting women living in rural and remote communities and small urban centres Français
COBOURG, ON, June 27, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Status of Women, along with Rick Norlock, Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Quinte West, today highlighted support being provided by the Government of Canada for a project in Northumberland County, Ontario to increase the economic security of women in the community.
The Community Training and Development Centre is receiving funding through Status of Women Canada to support the economic security of women in rural areas of Northumberland County. The objective of the project is to support women and community partners by working together to develop and implement a community plan that promotes women's economic security. Today the Minister participated in the launch of videos and other resource materials to help rural women increase their economic prospects. These resources will be available in the community and online.
This project is being supported the Government of Canada Call for Proposals entitled Women Living in Rural and Remote Communities and Small Urban Centres.
