Calgary's Bow Valley College receives $25,000 to host the 2019 Innovation Rodeo, a five-day conference for entrepreneurs.
CALGARY, July 8, 2019 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada recognizes that today's young Canadians will drive the future growth of Canada's economy. By investing in their success, we are investing in the success of all Canadians.
Today, Kent Hehr, Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), announced $25,000 in funding towards Bow Valley College to host the 2019 Innovation Rodeo, a five-day event of content, collaboration, and competition aimed towards entrepreneurs.
The 2019 Innovation Rodeo connects some of Alberta's most promising innovators and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, gain new skills, network, and help each other create and commercialize new ideas. The event aims to grow the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Alberta by increasing the number of young western Canadians entering a career of entrepreneurship, and increasing the long-term success rate of youth-owned start-ups.
The Government of Canada is committed to building an innovation economy – an economy in which Canadians have access to high-quality jobs and Canadian businesses are well-placed to compete in a rapidly evolving and competitive global marketplace.
