Government of Canada supports Ottawa-based Rianta Solutions Inc. as it develops next-generation network technology

OTTAWA, May 9, 2016 /CNW/ - Rianta Solutions Inc. is receiving up to $439,900 in funding from the Government of Canada to support the development of high speed, lower energy data centre technology, allowing for faster and more efficient internet communications. The announcement was made today by the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism, and Karen McCrimmon, Member of Parliament for Kanata-Carleton.

"With our support, Canadian companies will be able to grow their innovation and compete in the global marketplace, while creating jobs and economic prosperity here in Canada."

"We understand that a sustainable community needs access to resources that support wealth creation, innovation and entrepreneurship," added Karen McCrimmon, Member of Parliament for Kanata-Carleton. "The funding we are announcing for Rianta Solutions Inc. will develop next-generation data centre networks and support fast and reliable internet solutions for individuals and businesses in our communities and worldwide."

This investment is made through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) which supports thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises in Canada every year in developing and commercializing of technologies. NRC-IRAP works with industry to bridge technology gaps, helping build a more innovative Canadian economy that reflects today's global realities.

"NRC-IRAP's support is enabling us to accelerate our hiring initiatives and the market delivery of our intellectual property," said Richard Deboer, CEO and Co-Founder of Rianta Solutions Inc. "We are currently adding five employees per month with the goal of doubling in size by the end of 2016 to meet the needs of our global customer base."

Created in 2012, Rianta began with a six-person team working out of a co-founder's basement. The company now counts 40 full-time employees in Canada delivering expert solutions to leading datacenter semiconductor vendors. The company specializes in high quality innovative System-on-Chip solutions.
