MP Lemieux announces project to support women who are victims of or at risk of domestic violence in Ontario
ALFRED, ON, July 30th, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, on behalf of the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, Pierre Lemieux, MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell and Parliamentary Secretary for Veterans Affairs, announced a new project to improve accessibility to services for women living with disabilities who are victims of violence in Ontario.
Le Phénix - service d'intégration sociale Inc. is receiving $224,516 for a 36-month project to identify best practices and adapt intervention protocols in order to improve service providers' responses to the needs of women living with disabilities who are victims of violence. Pilots lead by service providers will be evaluated and results share through the partners' networks of other organizations
This project is being funded under the Call for Proposals entitled Working in Partnership to End Violence against Women and Girls
