OTTAWA, May 14, 2019 /CNW/ - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will attend the 2019 graduation ceremonies at Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Ontario, on May 16 and 17, 2019.
Below is Her Excellency's detailed itinerary.
Thursday, May 16
1 p.m.
Convocation Ceremony
During the convocation ceremony, the Governor General will receive a Doctor of Laws honoris causa and address the 2019 graduating class. Afterwards, the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of National Defence, will present approximately 300 students with their bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.

Graduation and Commissioning Parade
The Governor General, General Jonathan H. Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff, and other senior Canadian Armed Forces personnel will present commissioning scrolls to graduating members of RMC. The commissioning parade will include a formal inspection, a march past and a salute to the Governor General.
Upon receipt of their commissions, members of the graduating class officially become junior officers in the Canadian Armed Forces. General Vance will address the newly commissioned graduates on the parade square.
