Governor General to Represent Canada at the Inauguration Ceremony of the President of Mexico Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 29, 2018 /CNW/ - At the request of the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, will travel to Mexico to represent Canada at the inauguration ceremony of the new president of Mexico, His Excellency Andrés Manuel López Obrador, at the San Lázaro Legislative Palace on December 1, 2018. Following the inauguration ceremony, the Governor General will attend an official luncheon given by the new president.
Canada and Mexico, who will be celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2019, share a vibrant, multi-faceted relationship that is characterized by deep people-to-people ties, rich cultural connections and growing trade and investment.
