OTTAWA, Nov. 28, 2018 /CNW/ - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, will undertake an official visit to Yukon on Thursday, November 29, 2018.
During this visit, the Governor General will meet with territorial officials and community members. She will also have an opportunity to visit Yukon College where she will learn more about the school's cutting-edge research on northern issues.
Below is Her Excellency's detailed itinerary. Times are indicated in Pacific Standard Time (PST-8).

Her Excellency will meet with the Honourable Angélique Bernard, Commissioner of Yukon.

Official Welcoming Ceremony
Her Excellency will be officially welcomed to the territory by the Commissioner of Yukon and by the Honourable Sandy Silver, Premier of Yukon, and Peter Johnston, Grand Chief of the Council of Yukon First Nations. The Governor General will receive military honours from a quarter guard.

Visit to Yukon College
Joined by Ms. Janet Welch, Vice-President, Academic and Student Services, Her Excellency will tour the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining and the Yukon Research Centre Lab.
Yukon College has 13 campuses located throughout the territory, providing access to post-secondary education. It traces its history to the founding of the Whitehorse Vocational and Technical Training Centre (soon after renamed the Yukon Vocation and Technical Training Centre), located on the banks of the Yukon River just southeast of downtown Whitehorse.
