GATINEAU, QC, May 21, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Grand Loto-Québec Poker Tournament, which took place on May 19 and 20, at the Casino du Lac-Leamy, saw Ottawa's Carlos Nahas, who was playing for Keith Hamilton, win a seat to The BIG ONE for ONE DROPTM, in Las Vegas. It is the most significant charity tournament in poker history, with a buy-in of US$1 million per person. Part of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), 11.1% of the total buy-in will benefit ONE DROP®, established by Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil®.
Thanks to the Grand Loto-Québec Poker Tournament, Mr. Nahas will have the chance to go up against the best players in the world on July 1, 2 and 3, 2012. A win at that tournament means he would bring home several million dollars and the title of world poker champion.
Claude Poisson, President of the Société des casinos du Québec, and Kevin Taylor, General Manager of the Lac-Leamy and Mont-Tremblant casinos, awarded the winner's bracelet to Mr. Nahas.
