The Government of Canada awards $400,000 in funding to Saint-Félicien company
SAINT-FÉLICIEN, QC, March 15, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Granules LG is a leader in the production of energy-efficient wood pellets and logs using waste from the primary and secondary wood processing industries. Considered a leader in green energy, the company has received $400,000 from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions to optimize production at its plant in Saint-Félicien.
Richard Hébert, MP for Lac-Saint-Jean and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, made the announcement today. The government assistance in the form of repayable funding will help Granules LG purchase cutting-edge equipment, increase warehousing space and enhance its production and production management processes. In all, this project represents an investment of more than $2.2 million.
Founded in 1995, Granules LG has become one of the largest companies in its sector in Quebec and exports part of its production. Held entirely by Indigenous interests, the company stands out for its ability to innovate and for the importance it places on its economic, social and environmental impact on the community.
