Report profiles contributions to the well-being of Canadians and their communities
WINNIPEG, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life have released their 2013 Public Accountability Statement. The annual statement, titled Delivering Value, is the definitive public report on how the organization operates responsibly and creates a positive impact in the communities across the country.
"Our long-term focus and commitment to operate in a responsible, sustainable manner are at the heart of how we do business," said Paul Mahon, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our 2013 Public Accountability Statement describes the many different ways we deliver value."
Among highlights in the statement, the companies:
- Reported a 31.2% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 23.2% reduction in water consumption at corporate campuses between 2007 and 2013.
- Engaged with over 900 community stakeholders on national, regional and local priorities, contributing $11.8 million in 2013 to address major issues such as literacy, safety, sustainability and basic needs like hunger.
- Recognized the generosity of staff and distribution associates in raising more than $1.8 million for charities through corporate teams and workplace campaigns.
